Fagron NV: Karin de Jong joins the board of directors

Changes in composition of board of directors of Fagron

The board of directors of Fagron has, following the advice of the nomination and remuneration committee, decided to co-opt Ms Karin de Jong as executive director of Fagron. Karin de Jong will replace Mr Jan Peeters who stepped-down as executive director of Fagron during the annual shareholders meeting of 9 May 2016.

Robert Peek, chairman of the board of directors: “Ms De Jong has shown a great deal of expertise, dedication and commitment in the turbulent period behind us. Especially during the refinancing process of Fagron, she played a very important role. We wish her every success in her new position as director and CFO of Fagron.”

Fagron’s board of directors has taken notice of the resignation of Mr Filiep Balcaen and Ms Freya Loncin (permanent representative of Aubisque BVBA) as non-executive directors of Fagron. In accordance with article 15 of Fagron’s articles of association, the remaining directors decided to co-opt Mr Marc Janssens and Mr Marc Coucke (permanent representative of Alychlo NV) with immediate effect as new non-executive directors of Fagron.
The formal appointment of Ms De Jong, Mr Janssens and Mr Coucke will be proposed to the next general shareholders meeting of Fagron.

Karin de Jong (1979)
Karin de Jong is CFO of Fagron since May 2016. Karin has been working for Fagron since 2008, where she started as business controller. In 2013 she was appointed group controller. After graduating in business administration, accounting and control, Karin completed the post-graduate register controller degree at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Marc Janssens (1959)
Marc Janssens is director asset management and member of the executive committee of Baltisse since 2015. Baltisse is the family and investment office for Mr Filiep Balcaen’s family. Marc started working at Petercam (now DeGroof Petercam) in 1988. He became a partner in 1996 and has been a member of the board of directors of Petercam since 2011. From 1984 until 1988, he worked as an economic writer at Belgian daily De Standaard. Marc obtained a master’s degree in economic sciences from the KU Leuven, Belgium.

Marc Coucke (1965)
Marc Coucke is the founder of Omega Pharma. Following the sale thereof, he invests via NV Alychlo, in which he serves as chairman, in several listed and non-listed companies. Marc Coucke graduated in pharmacy from the state university of Ghent and obtained an MBA from the Vlerick Management School in Ghent, Belgium.
